Since you spend so much time together it might be hard to tell. [hahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAhaHAHAAHA] I think it all has to do with how both of you perceive it, though. In movies and stories you hear about dates by candle light or expensive things but
what makes it special is that the two of you are there together thinking of it as such.

Maybe a specific place that means a lot to you both could hold that sort of connotation?

You don't have to know right away. It's different for everyone after all and the two of you can figure it out together.
