First 👻 Story [Video/Action for New Bark]
--on't want to, oh my--
[Hello, there, world! You know how a camera looks when two people are fighting over it? ...Or, well, one person and one blob-like candle-thing, in this case. Point is, you do now; the lens is covered in little waxy marks, leaving the girl it's now focused on- the girl who keeps trying to snatch it back from the surprisingly nimble candle- in a light haze. Through the viewpoint, at least, emotionally she appears rather annoyed and frustrated.
Probably because of that Litwick urging her to do an impromptu vlog, huh.
Ashley's kneeling on the ground, her backpack open on her lap and her Trainer's Handbook gripped firmly - open, looks about halfway done - in on hand, as the other keeps swiping at the camera.]
Please give that back to me, you little-- [The angle evens out and Ashley's eyes go wide. Deer, headlights, hello.] It's on. Isn't it? [Bobbing, up and down.] Oh.
[Well. Let's just- ...keep staring straight ahead, okay, good job. A+ kid, gold star. Stage fright?]
I, um. Uh... Is...it broadcasting...? [Dumb question. ] Okay. I...uh- I'm not- ...this isn't anywhere near Canada, is it? Because. I read the- this. [She holds up the manual, a little dismally. Her tone of voice is frazzled, a little weak and helpless.] I know, it said um...New Bark Town, Johto? B- but...I'm just trying to figure out how I...got here. B-because no one's really...been forthcoming about that.
[Maybe she should broach this question carefully-]
And I really really would like to be sure if I'm going crazy or not, because there's a- a candle filming me, and I do not have blood on me and that is not at all what I remember, and I should get back t-to the ranger station because they might still need to- ask me questions- about...
[OH OKAY WOW NEVER MIND THEN
Ashley trails off as it seems her brain catches up with her mouth and oh boy that sure is something to say uh. She pales considerably.]
I- swear that's not what it- I- haven't um- killed...anyone...or...
[Either Litwick is going in for a dramatic close-up or actually wants to see if she's alright (jury's out on which one frankly) because the view of Ashley gets ever-so-slightly bigger- and when it's close enough she reaches out in one fluid motion and snaps it up with one more quick, muttered whimper:]
Sorry, bye.
[So. That's that, then.]
[ACTION FOR NEW BARK]
[If you happen to be around New Bark, you might find Ashley just kind of kneeling on the ground, around the houses, with her Litwick bouncing impatiently next to her. It doesn't look like she's in the mood to leave, not just yet, or. Even stand, really, she hasn't had a great time, lately.
...Though at some point she has decided to get herself up off the ground, because she's really had it with being all crouched in the snow and it KEEPS HAPPENING. Really she's so exhausted after the last...what, twelve hours? Thirteen? She'd kind of lost track, with all the bustling, questioning, waiting. Last she remembers, had...she finally fallen asleep? Waiting for the others to be done, the rhythmic ceiling fan, the distant sounds of the others being interviewed, the dim awareness of Emily glaring daggers at her every few minutes, the feeling of her cheek against Chris' shoulder...
She has to walk. To do something. Litwick trails along with her, pointing toward the trail, but Ashley ignores her insistent taps and pokes. She leaves a trail of footprints, occasionally rubbing her eyes with one hand, looking...rather exhausted, honestly.
There's nothing to do but read the handbook, so she finds a little bench and opens it and browses...and the PokéGear, at some point, she just kind of. Ran from that. Not her finest hour.]

I want to be with my friends right now and honestly asleep? I'm so freaking tired but ugh snow. But just forgetting all of this would seem weird.
At least I wouldn't have to worry about anyone thinking I've gone crazy, though. Unless I actually have still gone crazy. Jury's out.
Things were just really intense? I don't think any of my friends would be too enthused to go on a big yay adventure. I know I'm not exactly jumping for joy.
It'd be cool if they showed up though. Even just one.
[Private Text]
like as soon as i got to the second town i just stayed there and vegged out for a while
and i still havent left the third one after like months
i dunno
i wasnt in any shape psychologically i guess for more adventures when i got here so lying low for some time is an option
[This, actually, is why he made this thread private.]
[Private Text]
Someone did say I could settle down but I don't want to get accustom to this.
I don't know.
Maybe I need to think about this after I've gotten sleep.
I keep hearing that it's obvious I'm not okay.
So it's sort of obvious that I'm not in any shape for adventuring either huh?
[Private Text]
i mean you seem to be holding up pretty well for someone who turned up expecting to be covered in blood AND you actually had the presence of mind to read that guidebook so like damn girl youre doing better than some
i still havent read that thing i fall asleep every time
[Private Text]
The guidebook thing isn't a big deal for me. I'm in a weird place, there's a book with information. It seemed like the logical conclusion.
Plus I don't know. I just wanted to know what it said. I like reading. It's comforting.
[Private Text]
what kinds of things do you like to read?
(ps look at me channeling us into this new stream of thought so you dont have to think about the shit you were screaming and crying about)
(its ok you can thank me)
[Private Text]
Fantasy, mystery, and romance are my favorite genres but I'll read just about anything if it's good and not too scary. You have to read a lot if you want to write well after all.
Oh I want to write btw.
You probably gathered that.
My favorite is Lord of the Rings. I really hope it's a popular book series across other worlds or at least that a few people know of it.
[Private Text]
like god damn peter jackson
i may not be able to stay awake through your three hour reenactments of pseudo arthurian legend but hell if you dont make fuckall nowhere new zealand look somehow appealing
elijah woods face kind of creeps me out though
[Private Text]
The books are my favorites you know? I read them first so of course they would be. But I just love the movies. The cast everyone so well and the changes made worked!
Josh once sWhat's wrong with Elijah Wood? I don't think he's super attractive but he has nice big sad eyes. That's kind of a prerequisite for Frodo.
[Private Text]
just for that im gonna have to find the pokemonified version and marathon all nine fuckin hours of it extras and all
THATLL show you
but anyway no its definitely the eyes that turn me off
theyre just so
big
like i have no recollection of the man blinking once and hes always staring right into the camera and like
christ they dont change with his facial expressions theyre just always RIGHT THERE
HUGE
pinning me with their baby blue stare
ugh im shuddering
[Private Text]
You have me shaking in my uggs. ;p
But there's so much emotion in them!! You can see everything he's feeling!
When he's sad or happy or corrupted by the ring's evil power!
Also I LIKE blue eyes.
They're pretty.
[Private Text]
but meh
ive seen prettier
[Private Text]
[Private Text]
hypothetically speaking
[Private Text]
[Private Text]
hers are purple though if that changes matters
like kind oooof
this color
oh shit this is weird hahahahaha
[Private Text]
No way eyes are only purple in fantasy novels and video games and stuff.
[Private Text]
fuck
hold on
bet you cant guess what color mine are then
[Private Text]
But I'm thinking they might not be.
Maybe
despite it being impossible unless you're albino
red?
[Private Text]
you werent supposed to get it on your first try i had a big reveal in store and everything
[Private Text]
The whole font color thing kind of tipped me off once you started switching back and forth. ;)
I didn't mean to step on your toes though. I can pretend that I didn't guess and be absolutely astounded when you tell me.
(Are you albino though? Or is this another weird impossible eye color?)
[Private Text]
im blond
like stupidly light blond i almost look like a ghost
but i dont think i totally qualify as albino
[Private Text]
You're not pulling my leg? Not teasing me?
