[VIDEO / 3/12]

[At a little desk in a Violet City hotel, Ashley sits in front of a lot of...papers. Many papers, a notebook? Whatever's written on them can't be distinguished from the angle, but oh goodness, it looks like there sure is a lot of it! She looks a lot more put-together than the last time she was on video on the network, that's for sure. Probably helps that there's a Zubat poking up behind her shoulder, like he's holding on with his wings from behind, and it's a surprisingly peaceful image? Really, the girl who'd arrived here in hysterics is completely zen with giving a no-eyed bat a piggyback, something works well in this world.]

Hi. [...you don't have to-] I've, um, more or less... I've started training a lot, for my first gym battle, and it occurred to me that there are some Pokémon here that've got unconventional evolution styles. Since no one's an expert on everything and I'd have no idea where to start looking for one, I wanted to put this out to poll. I don't want to mess up and make it so they can't evolve right, especially since- Arwen, c'mere, don't do that-

[She bends down, dips off-screen (with a skitter from her Zubat) and then pops back up, with an excited little Eevee in her grasp, one who leans forward and sniffs at the camera.] Okay, sure, girl. Since I've heard Eevee have a lot of forms.

[A small Vee! as Ashley pulls the girl away. The view moves from Eevee-nose to one of her notes, one that appears to be a small...not-good doodle of an Eevee, with multiple arrows. ...It honestly looks like one for each type, um. Only one has a doodle at the end, which is mostly just a not-good Eevee with ribbons for its ears: Ashley's rendition of a Sylveon, with a little scribble of + puffs??.] I had a conversation with someone on how to get a Sylveon, but I'm not sure on the specifics- or how many forms Eevee has, or what causes them to evolve into each of them!

[Her finger rubs against the PokéGear's lens for a brief moment, leaving a faint print as she sets it back hastily so it's pointed back at her face. Her Eevee has since grown bored and hopped off, it appears.]

I don't want to...to train her without knowing what strategies to use. At least for evolution. And then I realized I don't know anything about the rest of mine either.

[What a god awful long preamble, Ash, do you ever shut up, God-
Looking several shades of awkward now that she's been talking for...awhile, she clears her throat and shifts her shoulders, meaning her Zubat almost falls off.]

S-so! Besides Eevee's...everything. I made up a list of my Pokémon, and, if any of them have special conditions or something besides simple training to help them evolve to their next form!

[And now the view's back to her notes, but a different set- it is indeed her roster, just a list of names; Litwick, Espurr, Happiny, Stantler, Zubat and so on. Not a very long list of species, thankfully.] I already know about Espurr's unique case, but for the rest I'm clueless, and the handbook didn't mention hardly anything about evolution.

Any information or just tips for evolution training would be very appreciated. Thanks for your time!

[ACTION FOR VIOLET / FRONTDATED TO 3/13]

[Training. Holy heck has this girl been training a lot. Towards the start of the day, you'll catch her with her Pokémon (Litwick, Luxio, Espurr, Zubat, Munna, and a very shy Snorunt) out of their balls, either on her way to or at Sprout Tower. ...Which is a fun place to be. Isn't it. All those freaking ghosts, and-

Naw, she's calm, she's cool. Feel free to run into her during this point, where she's likely training her Luxio or her shaking Snorunt, or maybe her Zubat.

...There is one point in the day, however.

Toward the end, when most of her Pokémon are all in their balls, save for her Zubat who's piggybacking on her shoulders.

Where this horrible shriek just echoes throughout the Tower, and holy crap she sure can run, can't she, down from the second floor and out the damn door, what the heck is she even running from-

Whatever it is, she's very distressed! Naturally. Because she wouldn't be Ashley if she wasn't.]

[Ashley immediately points toward the stairs, where a Phantump's descending. Approaching...]

[Oh no it's coming, it's going to attack them! It's... it's... kind of cute?

But it's also a ghost, so the best thing Rakka can do is sit up, and kind of scoot away from this little pokemon.]

What... what are you going to do?

[Is she talking to the ghost, or Ashley? Maybe both.]

[The little ghost climbs down the stairs, using its arms to pull it down one step at a time. When Rakka speaks, it tilts its head at her. Hi? Hello.]

T-to- get it to g-go away--

[Is that what's making his trainer afraid? Bram puffs up his chest and flaps his wings. Again. And again. And-- oh, that's a small tornado heading for the Phantump.]

Phaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannn

[...Bye, Phantump.]

...Br- Bram...

[It's looking at her.

What is she supposed to do? does she say hi? Is this how pokemon battles start? Will she get possessed?!

These questions and more leave Rakka frozen, at least until Bram decided to oh so helpfully intervene.

....Bye, Phantump. Nice meeting you.

Rakka is stunned, and so is Gale, and Kuu, and Kuki and Feza, though they're all crowding around Rakka now. Are you alright???]

Umm... Thank you, Ashley...?

[Ashley looks from the place the Phantump was to Bram to Rakka, who is still on the ground, oh.]

Oh God, Rakka, are you okay? I- I didn't expect a- a freaking ghost to be so persistent, I'm sorry, it's been trailing me all day!

[Still on the ground, yes. But she at least has her pokemon helping her to her feet? So not everything is sucking too badly for her.]

Me? Yes, I think so? [She'll probably have bruised knees tomorrow, but what of it.] But, are you okay? I saw you running, are you tired, did the ghost hurt you at all?

[concerned Rakka is a force to be reckoned with.]

[A slow blush rising from her neck.]

N-no, I- it just- it probably was going to, but I uh, ran away fast enough. [it hugged her that's what it did] I'm fine.

[Here, Rakka- she reaches down a hand to help her up.]

O-oh. Okay, I'm just glad that... [ashley's fine, and she's fine. Everything's fine- and there's Ashley's hand.

Thank you, Ashley's hand. She'll allow you to help her up. Her Pokemon can just stand back for right now.]

...It's nice to see you again. [sheepish smile] It's been so long.

[Ashley's sole Pokémon out of its Pokéball just hangs near her shoulder, as he always does.]

It...really has been, hasn't it? Wow, I hadn't realized...it's been a month.

[Obviously Ashley's life is a little bit less crowded. Just look at all these pokemon crowding around the sad bird girl.]

A... month, are you really sure? [She's actually rather surprised.] I didn't keep track of time, but I guess it's really flying around here.

...Uh! Did you come here to train too?

[She nods.] I'm trying to get them all strong enough for the gym leader...even though this place is full of...

[Shiver.]

I've been for a few days. It's my go-to, but maybe I should start just going back on to the routes.

...Ghosts?

[Yeah, she can agree with you there, Ashley. Yikes.]

Maybe we can try training out on the routes together sometime. I know it's easier when you have someone else with you, and I've been training here with Bakugou longer then I thought.

[He's probably still in there, beating up a monk.]

[Shivers again, as if just saying the word will bring them all out...!

But...] Bakugou...? Oh! You mean, um- how do you pronounce it Kat-suki...? I talked to him awhile back, he was...friendly. Are you traveling together?

Oh, uh huh. That's him! We traveled all the way from Violet city together. [nodnod. It made the multiple day trek through snow... slightly bearable?] Friendly is a good word for him.

[...Stage Whisper.] Also, kind of loud.

[A small amused snort.]

Is...that so? I've only ever talked to him by text, so...

Yeah... He's really determined though, even if he only has one pokemon with him.

[And she has... well. But at least her travels were never boring thus far.]

You should meet him sometime! It's a lot harder then using the pokegear, but I think it means a little more! [because she's not used to the pokegear yet.]

Only one? [Raises eyebrows slightly.] I remember the catchphrase being gotta catch 'em all... But oh well, I'd like that. He seemed like a pretty friendly guy.

[And insightful. ...Which she can't really say because that would be going into "he gave me advice on anon"]

Oh, uh- it's nothing, just- a whole game back where I came from, think nothing of it.

Uhh? Alright... [She won't argue with Ashley about that, but that wouldn't stop her from being a little curious.]

So, how are your pokemon? You said that you were training them too here, right?

[She doesn't really want to walk through the multiverse in this horrible tower... Maybe they should leave, they're on the ground floor, right? Ashley just starts the trek out.]

Right now? They're tired. I've...well, we've all been trying our hardest to be ready to take on the gym.

[Oh... It's time to pack up shop for the day anyways, training with ghosts doesn't sound like too much fun to her. Rakka recalls most of her roster and follows after Ashley.]

The gym... [Falkner. She nods.] I'm trying to prepare for that gym too.

[Only her Zubat's out, and he's taken to...settling in at her shoulders, piggyback style. Ashley's used to it.]
